Lyska is the part of Luzanky centre existing from 2001 and it is situated in Novy Liskovec district.
Now we have 3 pedagogues to work with children and also some externs. Our main activity is to offer non-formal education to the children and adults, mainly in the area of artistic activities.
We offer regular workshops, learning programs, but also organize exhibitions or other events for public, summer or holiday camps for children.
Lyska is looking for the volunteer who would like to assist at our youth-club. The objective of club is to provide quality free-time activities for youngsters.
The youth-club is directly in the Lyska Centre and it is an open space for non-organized children and teenagers. The club is arranged as tearoom where the painting and handicraft workshops or discotheques can take place. The youngsters can play many kinds of board games or the table football there, they can listen to music, watch movies, take part in dance
or other competitions. The role of the volunteer is to be with the youth in the club and to propose different activities to them. The kids are coming from different conditions, some of them are Roma, some are facing social difficulties.
Our volunteer can choose what kind of activities he would like to work in (assistance at the artistic and handicraft workshops for schools, kindergartens or adults (ceramics, painting, etc.) We would like to host a volunteer who likes working with children and teenagers, arts, dance, theatre and music. The time schedule of the volunteer: 35 hours weekly 17 hours in the Youth clubs: the direct contact with clients in the clubs 5 times a week plus 5 hours of preparation for the youth club) 3 hours weekly of assistance at the handicraft workshops for schools 5 hours weekly of occasional events, discotheques etc. 3 hours of Czech language course 2 hours of preparation and meetings with coordinator and other volunteers 5 hours for volunteers common/personal project We offer to our volunteer little office with basic accessories, one person of our stuff (tutor) ready to answer questions and to help. The volunteer can also visit other activities at Lyska or at other branches of Lužánky (various courses and lessons).
