This a call for 7 EVS vacancies in Romania for volunteers from Spain(3), Italy (2) and Greece (3) to be involved in outdoor education, kids, animation, education for nature, science experiments. Duration 6 months.

Tasks of volunteers
-plan, prepare and organize sport and outdoor activities ( sports, hiking, biking, orientation, birdwatching, running, climbing, exploring nature – Nature Detectives Club) Monday to Friday for young people 6 to 16 years from Bihor county, Romania;
-organize 2 workshops in highschools and universities in Oradea where they can share their experience as EVS volunteers and encourage volunteering
-assist ALC team to create a website where outdoor activities we organize and other organisations, outdoor opportunities will be disseminated to encourage kids, adolescents, families and teachers and educators to get outside, and finally enjoy and benefit from being outside

Association Learning Communities is a non profit organisation and its objectives are:
Creating opportunities for people to meet people with same interests, share information and build ideas which contribute to progress;
Develop services and projects for young people and children designed to help them develop abilities and attitudes, so they become active members of their communities;
Increase active participation of children, young people and adults;
Offering support to communities promoting education, environment protection, human rights, sport, life long learning, Fair trade, entrepreneurship and intercultural education;
Increase access of people to technology and information about science;
Promoting the concept of Non formal education and offering support to those active in this field.

The program of the volunteers:
During school – Monday to Friday 11.30 – 17.30
During summer holidays – Monday to Friday 08.00 – 14.00
Saturday and Sunday are free days.
Experimenting animation in outdoor activities is an EVS project where 8 EVS volunteers are doing a 6 months service in Oradea and Bihor County, Romania under the supervision and with the support of youth workers with experience in EVS, youth workers passionate about outdoor and nature, ngo workers actively involved in education of kids and adolescents.
The team is formed by people with years of experience in training in Non formal education, young people with experience in managing YiA / Erasmus+ projects and passionate about outdoor.
ALC team has conceived a plan to train, offers support, and give young volunteers practical experience in all the stages of concept/preparation/running and evaluating outdoor activities.
1. Develop outdoor activities for a period of 6 months in Oradea and surroundings to enable 8 EVS volunteers to acquire skills in preparing and running outdoor activities, to help volunteers in finding a job or start as entrepreneurs in Outdoor industry
2. Disseminate project results at various levels: local, national and international to all actors involved in Erasmus+
How we will work ?
The 8 EVS volunteers will work side by side with youthworkers from our organization to provide this educational opportunity for children and adolescents from our community.
The outdoor activities we provide are free of charge for our beneficiaries.
After your arrival we are going to organize:
1. training on educational approach
2. planning sessions where we as a team will establish how we will work, risk management, planning the activities we are going to organize, ethics in work, small teams division depending on workshops we choose to do
After these meetings we will start our work and we are going to have a wonderful time sharing our energy with kids coming to the Park and those coming with us in the trips.
Association Learning Communities will supervise your work, will help you developing / or improving your skills in working with kids and adolescents. If there is more training needed we will provide.
Between team members the language will be english.
With kids we will speak english and romanian as much as you can learn.
Our previous experience helped us understand that:
kids who make english at school since second grade would love to talk to you in english
kids like to teach you romanian
playing with kids, being there with them while playing different sports, or while observing nature, or just walk side by side in our trips – does not require romanian – BUT a lots of body language, smile and love for kids and our work
parents of these kids see this as an opportunity for their kids to practice english
there will be romanian volunteers able to translate for you if you like to say something
What we offer
learning environment where EVS volunteers can learn skills they can use in educational activities for kids, in developing outdoor activities, in organising outdoor sports, in being educators / teachers able to use outdoor opportunities to encourage kids learning
support in developing team skills and intercultural learning skills
travel costs covered according to Erasmus+ rules – maximum covered -> (Spain – 360 Euro; Greece -275 Euro ; Italy – 275 Euro)
we cover accommodation and utilities in apartments we rent in Oradea city( each volunteer has his/ her own room, facilities in apartment for cooking, washing clothes, internet). Of course each apartment will have beds, furniture to store clothes, washing machine for clothes, all utilities so you can cook, access to wireless internet. Apartments will be situated near shops where you can buy food and in 500 metres range you will have a market for vegetables
we offer 60 Euro / month Pocket money and 120 monthly allowance for food
local transportation – we offer a bicycle to each volunteer
every volunteer has CIGNA medical insurance for the whole period of services
Young people 18 to 30 years from the 3 countries.

– people curios and willing to learn to work with kids in outdoor activities
– young people willing to learn and open minded
– people able to speak english and basic to middle level
– people passionate about non formal education determined to work and to learn new skills
