EVS vacancy in Greece for British volunteer
Social Youth Development, KANE, is a non-profit organization situated in Kalamata, Greece. Our main target group is young people aged 15-30, youth workers, youth leaders, mentors and trainers. However we are also working with all the local community.
K.A.NE’s aims are to play the questioning pole of youth of the local community and to promote youth mobility through European Union. It has also created in the city of Kalamata the first YOUTH CENTRE, in order to facilitate creative socialisation, promote art and culture, create educational teams through non formal education, and support active participation in social events and lifelong learning activities.
The idea of this project is to create a sharing space and to implement different events and activities, where young volunteers, together with local volunteers and staff of Civil Society organisations in Kalamata will share ideas and opinions, have a constructive dialogue around the issues described above and work together to promote solidarity, social inclusion, tolerance, volunteerism and the important role that youth work can play for the development of young people and the empowerment of young people, especially of young people with fewer opportunities.
Tasks include, among others,:
– Support the preparation and implementation of different activities and events in the city of Kalamata
– Create own activities
– Assisting in the daily running of K.A.NE.’s offi
– Participation in the programming, development and evaluation of activities
– Support the organisation in developing more activities
– Following the environmental schedule of the Youth Centre
