Cloughjordan Community Farm (CCF) is searching for 1 EVS volunteer FROM GREECE to start 6th August 2016 for one year. The volunteer will join three other volunteers all starting in August.
The EVS volunteers’ main focus will be working and learning about organic, biodynamic and sustainable farming and living in our community through hands-on work and learning in the polytunnels and field. The volunteers will be involved in activities supporting food production, promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development as well as activities associated with organising and promoting educational events. Accommodation is in a shared house in the ecovillage with one other volunteer.
Cloughjordan place of Ireland’s only ecovillage, is surrounded by 50 acres of beautiful land dedicated to woodland and active food production. The ecovillage is home to approximately 55 households along with a hostel, a community farm, and a number of non-profit educational enterprises such as Cultivate and Sustainable Projects Ireland Ltd. It’s varied educational activities and it’s location within the ecovillage provides a rich service and learning opportunity.
We are Irelands’ first CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm. Owned and run by 80 members, our aims are to grow our own food, save seed, be sustainable and provide educational outreach.
