The Bataviawerf is a dockyard with special ambitions. Ships from the golden century age, which have been important in our maritime history.
Our organisation is depending on the work of volunteers for some years already. A lot of foreign volunteers helped to build the ship “Batavia” and still helping for the construction of “Het water schip”. The Bataviawerf could not exist without the help of numerous volunteers which help in showing everybody the way of building ships in the 17th century.
Batavia-yard is an organisation which is depending on the work of volunteers for some years already. A lot of foreign volunteers helped to build the ship the “Batavia” and are now helping to start a new project for a replica ship.
Stichting Batavia could not exist without the help of numerous volunteers, which help in showing everybody the way of building ships in the 17th century. This period is also known as the ‘golden age’ in Dutch history. Next to the building of the ships in the authentic way, We also has the educational function to teach about the history
Create technical drawings for the workshops, improve the 3D digital model of Batavia, create nice videos and photos about the Bataviawerf and handwork (rebuild some parts of the Batavia mast, yards, etc.-, forge, wood work)
