The Artemisszió Foundation is searching for an EVS volunteer from Portugal aged between 18 and 30, who is interested in intercultural dialogue and actively wants to participate in a project with socially disadvantaged youth and migrant communities, to fight marginalization and discrimination. Even if we are not looking for any specific skills or studies, based on the topic of the project and the foreseen activities, the volunteers should have social sensitivity, affinity and ability to work with teenagers and youngsters, especially with socially disadvantaged ones, be interested in organizing cultural activities and animation, be enthusiastic, flexible, responsible, creative and preferably possess some artistic abilities. The Artemisszió Foundation has been operating since 1998 as a non-profit organization of public interest.
The founders were young anthropologists who wanted to apply their theoretical knowledge and the results of their scientific research to foster social and personal development and open-minded thinking. The Artemisszió Foundation is aiming to achieve its objectives through the research, promotion and use of the theory and practice of intercultural communication.
– supporting the community building of Mira! community in diverse activities
– cooperationg actively in the educational activities of the foundation (non-formal learning activities)
– develop activities in a partner youth centre with disadvantaged teenagers
– contributing to the everyday tasks in Artemisszió (administrative, creative, etc.)
The final tasks will be negotiated with the volunteers on the first week after getting to know the organisation and the recent opportunities.
