Almost 1500 people work at Vivent, plus more than 700 volunteers. Vivent is a healthcare provider in the region with expertise in dealing with unconventional behavior in young and old people with dementia and people with non-congenital brain damage. Vivent intends to give valuable care for their clients, be a pleasant organization for the professional and volunteer to work for. They put effort in their employees and volunteers to connect them, improve the team spirit and take care of personal development.
The EVS volunteer 1 will work in two homes in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, de Hooghe Clock and Het hof van Hintham. He or she will try together with experienced volunteers to improve physical activity for their “clients” (patients). This can be sports in general but also activities at the table such as ball games at the table and the “tovertafel” https://tovertafel.nl/zorginnovatie-dementie/. Moreover, improving experiences through listening music is important. A volunteer who plays for example guitar is most welcome. The EVS volunteer will help to organize creative activities as well. This is to improve the domestic feeling and have extra attention for the clients. Furthermore, the volunteer will help to organize activities such as the Easter and Christmas market and the “dagbestedingen”https://www.vivent.nl/diensten/dagbesteding-vivent-een-zinvolle-tijdsbesteding/31/. In addition, the volunteer will help the clients with modern technology, such as explaining how to use an Ipad https://www.vivent.nl/diensten/dagbesteding-vivent-een-zinvolle-tijdsbesteding/31/. In de Hooghe Clock, also students and top-athletes are living, who are performing volunteering work in the house, such as help-desk service and organize a bingo evening. The EVS volunteer will assist them a couple of hours a week as well. During the project, activities can be extended. Starting point will be the interest and talents of the EVS volunteer.
EVS volunteer 2 will work in one home in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Mariaoord Rosmalen). Here the focus will be to further develop the animal grazing (child farm) and develop a butterfly garden together with experienced volunteers. Furthermore, it will be the same activities as with EVS volunteer 1, so improve physical activity, listening music and organize activities, and helping the students and top-athletes. Also here, during the project the activities can be extended. Starting point will be the interest and talents of the EVS volunteer. Vivent would like to attract more youngster as volunteers, so besides the students and top athletes the EVS volunteers are most welcome. The EVS volunteer will learn how to organize, manage and plan activities, and will get experience to work in the Health sector and to be aware of cultural differences. They will learn Dutch and how to work within a team. It is about a new and practical way of learning experiences and cultural exchange for both sides. On the one hand, the volunteers, as part of the team, get to know the everyday life of the health sector, and on the other hand they have the freedom to bring in their own experiences, ideas, and interests – to the team and work program. The EVS volunteers will bring new dynamics into the homes and city ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The volunteers will live in the Hooghe Clock – ‘s-Hertogenbosch with other EVS volunteers.
